Call 144 only when there is a danger to someone’s life (life-threatening emergencies), or after a serious accident.

For all other medical problems which are not a life-threatening emergency, contact the family doctor or the doctor on call first (see below).

For the police emergency switchboard. Depending on the type of emergency, the police will forward the request to other services (fire brigade, ambulance, etc.).

For the emergency medical helicopter company. They are often called on by paramedics, fire brigades or the police.

The MEDIQO general medicine center brings together several family doctors. It is equipped with modern medical equipment to treat patients. The center has three locations: Delémont (Pré-Guillaume), Le Noirmont (Franches-Montagnes), and Porrentruy (Hôpital du Jura).

In Delémont, the MEDIPED service offers consultations for children by appointment. It works in collaboration with pediatricians and with the children’s hospital in Basel.

The center also offers a medical walk-in service for adults, without an appointment. It welcomes people from the age of 16, especially those who do not have a family doctor or when their doctor is not available, for minor emergencies.

Sometimes a water pipe breaks. When there is a lot of water, it causes serious damage.
